Why Titanium Motorcycle Bolts?
Lower weight. Excellent corrosion resistance. High strength. Premium appearance.
Here’s where Grade 5 titanium bolts make sense on a motorcycle — and where proper fitment still matters.
Lower Weight
Titanium is substantially less dense than steel. A single fastener may save only a small amount, but replacing multiple suitable bolts across a motorcycle can reduce the total weight of the hardware while keeping a clean, purpose-built appearance.
The benefit is most useful when the correct fasteners are selected as part of a broader weight-conscious build. Size, grade, installation method and application still matter more than the weight saving alone.
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
Titanium naturally forms a stable protective oxide layer. This gives it strong resistance to moisture, road spray and many conditions that can cause ordinary steel hardware to rust or lose its finish.
That resistance makes titanium especially attractive on exposed motorcycle hardware, where appearance and ease of maintenance matter through changing weather and repeated washing.
High Strength
STA Supply primarily uses Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V titanium, a widely used titanium alloy that combines high strength, low density and excellent corrosion resistance.
That does not mean every steel bolt can safely be replaced with titanium. The original fastener specification, required clamping load, thread engagement, installation torque and service conditions must all be considered for the individual motorcycle and application.
Premium Appearance
Titanium hardware adds a precise, finished look without relying on painted steel. Depending on the fastener and current availability, STA Supply offers Natural/Silver, Gold, Blue, Purple, Rainbow and Black finishes.
Finish availability varies by size and product. Natural titanium gives a clean technical look, while anodized colours can match or contrast with wheels, controls, suspension and bodywork.
Where Titanium Hardware Makes Sense
Correctly specified titanium fasteners work especially well in visible, corrosion-prone and weight-conscious areas of a motorcycle.
Finding the Correct Size
Start with your motorcycle, then confirm the exact thread diameter, pitch, length, head style and quantity before ordering.
